Recruitment

Ashby Concert Band is always keen to recruit new members.

In particular we are looking for brass instrument players, bass and alto clarinet, and percussion/kit players.

Entry Level

The entry level is ABRSM Grade 5 or equivalent. Admission is always subject to a satisfactory audition, but we don’t press new players to take their audition on the first night, or in front of everyone else, unlike some bands!

Becoming a Member

Once you have completed a satisfactory audition you will be invited to become a full member of the Band. There is an initial, one-off, Joining Fee, and termly Subscription Fees. Subscription can be paid by cash/cheque at the beginning of each term, or if you wish, you can set up a Standing Order with your Bank.

Brass Players!

Would you like to play trumpet, trombone, euphonium, French horn or tuba in one of the best concert bands in the East Midlands? If you have experience of playing in a wind band or orchestra (and so read bass clef if you are a trombone, euphonium or tuba player), and have achieved at least Grade 5 standard, and you don't happen to be playing for a band right now, then get in touch with our Director of Music. Rehearsal Nights

Practice Night is every Monday evening starting promptly at 7:30 p.m., through until approximately 9:30 p.m. We take a 15 minute coffee break for socialising, and then back to business.

ACB is a true Community Band and welcome players of all ages; we have an entry standard of Grade 5 on your chosen instrument.
